Bharati Vidyapeeth is proud to be the pioneer to introduce a degree in FINE ART under the Savitribai Phule Pune University in 2000. This Institute was established by Dr. Patangrao Kadam with a view to providing educational opportunities to the students who want to make their career in the field of Fine Arts.
The vision of the college is to be the leading Institution in the field of Visual Art imparting qualitative education.
The primary mission of the Institute is to nurture students not only to be competent professionals but also responsible citizens and noble minded human beings. The institution is committed to providing student-centric qualitative education in Fine Art and Communication Design. We consistently train the students and facilitate academics to assimilate knowledge through well-planned teaching-learning exercises. The institute has a strong commitment to provide sound, supporting, upgraded curriculum, modernized facilities, and infrastructure. The institute also works towards creating art awareness in society at large.
The institute is affiliated with Savitribai Phule Pune University and is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, and housed in an independent and attractive, ultramodern building having fully equipped, spacious lecture halls, studios, laboratories, and classrooms. Care is taken to continuously upgrade equipment with newer technologies. Our library is one of the largest libraries with a collection of over 10,500 books and online access to 500 journals on e-data base and e-journals etc. in Visual Arts and its allied fields.
The syllabus is regularly updated to meet industry expectations and is aligned with the industry for better opportunities for internships and placement. Our teaching faculty includes highly qualified, experienced, dedicated, and student-caring teachers. Many of them are recipients of various State and National Awards. They keep upgrading themselves regularly through seminars, workshops, research papers, etc. We also have renowned academicians and industry experts as visiting faculty to guide students with their expertise. Prominent personalities from Visual Art and its allied fields are invited regularly to give demonstrations, conduct workshops, and guide the students periodically to enrich the students with their knowledge and share their experience. All these measures give our students an upper edge in placements.
Students are encouraged at all levels to take part in various state and national competitions, exhibitions, sports, and other extra-curricular activities. Today this institute is a full-fledged Art Institute with 240 students pursuing Applied Art from pan India and abroad. The college has produced excellent results every year with 100% placement.
We are proud to be ranked in the Top 10 Art colleges in India by India Today Nelson Survey for 5 consecutive years. NIRF awarded 93rd rank in 2017-18 for excellence in education. Bharati Vidyapeeth's College of Fine Arts is known for its academic distinction not only in Maharashtra but also across India. Thus making us leaders in Art Education.
